ACL Surgery for Kiera
Donation protected
Kiera is a 7 year old, sweet and strong pup with many years left to live. Huskies live upwards of 15 years and I plan on doing everything in my power to ensure she has a fur-filling and comfortable life. She's been my shoulder to cry on, my adventure companion, my farm protector and an admirable huntress. If you've ever met her, you know she's a very unique, well behaved husky that exceeds many expectations and exhibits only the best traits the breed has to offer.
A few weeks ago, while foraging for mushrooms in the Maine woods, she began to limp. I thought maybe she had stepped on something, or got a thorn in her paw. After a $1000 vet visit we found out she has a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee. Unfortunately she also has arthritis, and if she doesn't get the surgery she will likely hurt her other knee and have no use of her back legs. I'm working like a dog to get the funds, but this is a time sensitive matter that needs to be taken care of before further damage is done. Ive explored all other financal options and called most veterinary hospitals in New England to try to find an alternative, with no luck. Its truly disgusting how the animal medical industry works. If youre not familiar, they expect full payment when you pick your fur baby up and they offer no payment plans or options. I've donated to many of your causes over the years when I've been able. I dont like to ask for anything and if theres anything I can help you with inexchange, please reach out. Our recent move and medical bills have put me in a tight financial position lately and these things just happen at the least convenient times. I hope you find it in your hearts to help if you can. She deserves it. ❤️
All funds will go towards her estimated $6k surgery with several follow up xray appointments as well as bracing hardware.
