ACL surgery for Beautimus

Hello everyone, this is my ESA (emotional support animal) Beautimus Maximus aka Beauty, Wiggle Butt, Princess. On New Years day 2024 Beauty was doing her new year zoomies on the East End beach. She stopped running and started to favor her left back leg. We went home, hoping it was just a strain and contacted her vet. Visiting the vet the next morning he believed Beauty had just pulled a muscle and sent us on our way with pain meds and anti-inflammatories with a diagnosis of low impact activity for 4 weeks. Just last Thursday, February 1st I took her in for x-rays (to the tune of $700) and was told she actually tore her ACL and needed surgery. Heartbreaking news, no one wants their fur baby to be in pain or suffer in any way, and she's been such a trooper up until then. Recommended by our vet, The Maine Veterinary Medical Center is the only location in our area that does those surgeries on larger breed animals. The told me over the phone a rough quote of $7000-$8500 not including the $200 consult which will go towards the procedure. To those of you who know Beauty, she's such a good girl and loves to put smiles on everyone she meets faces and helping us get her this surgery would return the favor. The impact of her injury has been beyond depressing and stressful and I wouldn't be asking if we didn't need YOUR HELP!
