acl surgery for 10yr husky/lab mix

Toby my animal shelter rescue dog has torn his ACL and needs surgery. the vet says the cost will be anywhere between 2000-3000 dollars. so far I've saved up 500 but he is getting worse and it's taking to long to save up. I first took him to the vet for the injury in late March and they put him on joint pills and pain/inflammation pills hoping it would heal. a month later and he's getting worse, I've not let him run or jump and he's been limited to short times outside. if I reach my goal and there ends up being money left I'll donate it to the aspca or the no kill shelter I got Toby from. any help is appreciated. I plan on making a YouTube video that I'll add on here so you can see his condition before and after surgery.
