Hi everyone, My name is Heather Eade On 11th January 2026, while playing in the Surrey Cup, I suffered a devastating knee injury that has changed my day-to-day life. I ruptured my ACL, sprained my LCL & PCL, along with sustaining a fractured femur, and I’m now facing surgery and a long, demanding recovery.
What makes this especially hard is that this was the best season yet. I’d scored 16 goals and made 12 assists in just 12 games.
This injury has taken away two huge parts of who I am. I’m currently unable to play the game I love, and I’ve also been unable to work my job as cabin crew, until I’m fully mobile and strong again. Being unable to work has been incredibly tough both emotionally and financially.
The current waiting list on the NHS for surgery is around a year. My recovery isn’t just about surgery. To give myself the best chance of returning to full mobility, I need to fund prehab, Surgery, Extensive rehabilitation, including physiotherapy, strength training, and mobility work over many month. These stages come with significant costs, especially while I’m unable to work.
I’m setting up this GoFundMe to help cover these expenses so I can focus fully on recovery, rebuilding my strength, and getting back to both my career and the sport that means so much to me.
Any donation, no matter how small, would mean more than I can express. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would help enormously. Thank you for any support you can give — it truly means everything to me
