I am not one to ask for money for myself. And I guess in a certain way, I am still not. My soul pup, Lorelai, has an ACL tear that is in need of surgery. She is 9 years old, which would technically classify her as a young senior, but the vet has noted that nothing about her health, bloodwork, demeanor, etc. would indicate to them that she is a senior. For that reason, they recommend surgery as the solution rather than pain management. The surgery will actually eliminate use of the tendon entirely, which means no risk of the injury happening again in the future (at least in that leg).
$6,000 is a lot of money at any time. With the wedding in less than 4 months, we are contractually obligated at this point to pay a lot of money to other parties. We are not in a financial position currently to re-allocate funds. I realize a wedding is a privilege and a luxury, so it makes me feel so embarrassed to ask for help. We simply do not have it right now. And no, the surgical office does not accept payment plans.
The risk of not doing the surgery now is increased degeneration, increased pain, and risk of the same injury impacting the other hind leg due to the weight strain (frequently shifting the weight from the injured one to the other).
I am so appreciative of any amount. Even if you just share this with people you know, that's a help. Lorelai, Bryan, and I thank you.
