ACL Injury- Road to recovery ⚽️

Donation protected

Back in September last year (2024) I had a freak injury that stopped me from playing football. An MRI scan identified that I had fully torn my ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) and also a tear to my meniscus in my knee, preventing me from kicking a ball without having to undergo surgery on it.

I have never previously experienced any injuries in my playing playing career, so over the past few months i have been physically and mentally challenged as I cannot play the game that I have known for as long as I can remember. This does not just affect my Football abilities but also the ability to work pain free. Being a Sports coach is physically demanding as you are constantly on your feet with the children you are teaching every day.

With the NHS struggling, it means that the waits are longer for surgery, which could see me waiting over 18 months for a call off them. Which would put my journey back into football even further away than it already is. As a family, we have decided that the best option for me is to undergo Surgery Privately, not only to benefit my working abilities, but to also speed up the time it takes for me to get back to football.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any support you can give.

Thank you again,
