From early mornings of tabla practice and Hindustani classical riyaaz in a modest Mumbai home, raised by a single mother, to the studios of CalArts in California, Achintya Bose has carved an extraordinary artistic path—grounded in discipline, improvisation, and the belief that movement can heal.
Now entering the final stretch of his undergraduate journey—with a 3.9 GPA and consistent 4.0s—Achintya is poised at a moment where everything he has worked toward begins to converge.
This fundraiser supports three distinct but connected goals, each marking a critical step in Achintya’s evolution as a dancer, choreographer, and cross-cultural collaborator.
- GOAL 1: Final Year at CalArts— [Sept 2025 to May 2026 | Deadline Half by July 31, 2025 & Rest by January 5, 2025]
Achintya has been fast-tracked to graduate in 3 years instead of 4 from the BFA Dance program at CalArts. With a scholarship total of $47,500 (including the Dean’s Retention Grant, Sharon Disney Lund Foundation Grant, and others), he now needs to raise $74,540 to fully cover:
- Tuition
- Housing
- Insurance & Medical
- Food
- Local & international travel
- Skill enhancement workshops
Endowment Option:
Supporters funding the full amount may opt for a Named Endowment at CalArts and/or credit across performances, programs, and PR materials.
- GOAL 2: Amsterdam- Volunteer Dancer for Counter Technique Teacher Training August 2025
Achintya has been selected for the prestigious Countertechnique Teacher Training (CTTT) as a Volunteer Dancer in Amsterdam—a rare, tuition-free opportunity to train and network with leading movement educators.
Immediate need: $3,800 to cover travel, accommodation, and living expenses during this two-week program.
- GOAL 3: Boston Dance Theatre's SIP'25 [Aug 24 to 30th]-
Another rare opportunity with one of the world's best. This would be his springboard into life after graduation. In this program he will get to immerse in choreographic work with various choreographers and global artists.
- Goal 4: If someone has a used car they can let him use for the academic year then that will take away from the transportation cost. The Ask will come down by at least 15000 USD.
- Goal 5: 14,000 USD for boarding - lodging in LA to complete his program. If someone can host him for the academic year then we don't need to raise this either.
