Our beautiful family cat escaped her cat run 6 weeks ago. After a long search she was found and taken to the Mowbray Vet. Unfortunately after a thorough check up from the vet we were advised that her front left leg was broken as a result of a gunshot wound as well as another gunshot wound in her backside and some damage to her tail.
We were able to take her home as her broken bones had started healing naturally as they determined she had possibly been shot 2-3 weeks before being found. However, her healing has gone backwards and now she has to have her leg wrapped up with a splint until she can get surgery.
We have two options, either a plate in her leg to bring her bones back together or amputation. We are aware that the cost of the procedure will be expensive but not sure how much yet and we will not be able to afford the costs associated with her surgery.
To some she may be just a cat, but to us she is part of our family and very well loved and we think all animals deserve to live if we can help them.
We hope that there may be some able people willing to contribute to making Coco’s quality of life better again and thank anyone in advance.
