Ace's Emergency Vet Bills

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jessica and I'm fundraising to help with my dog Ace's medical bills. He had what the vet thinks was a mini stroke on the morning of Wednesday, 5/24, while we were already enroute to the emergency animal hospital closest to us. I ended up having to transfer him to another emergency facility so he could be seen by a neurologist. After being seen by the neurologist and having several tests (blood panels, x-rays, ultrasound, urinalysis, etc) they determined that the root cause is internal, not neurological. They currently think he most likely has a form of Protein Losing Enteropathy, which caused a clot leading to the mini stroke.

Ace has been hospitalized for about 24 hours so far and, after speaking with his internal medicine doctor today, 5/25, it seems like he may make a full or nearly full recovery from the neurological symptoms he was exhibiting yesterday (unable to stand or walk due to loss of horizon, right eye pointing downward and not focusing on what his left eye was, rolling to his right side trying to correct/right himself due to loss of horizon, weakness on the right side of his body), however, he still needs more testing (endoscopy and biopsy of the GI tract tissue, additional blood panels) to fully determine his diagnosis. This may require hospitilization for another day or two, depending on how he reacts to the anesthesia, endoscopy, and biopsy.

Ace will need to take several medications for the rest of his life to manage this and is more sucseptible to additional strokes which could mean more visits to the emergency room in the future. This good boy is only about 6 years old and hopefully still has a lot of life still left to live as long as we figure out what's going on and treat it properly. I was able to see him last night and he was in good spirits, wagging his tail despite still being very wobbly at that time. He's going to have the endoscopy soon, which has its risks but I'm hoping this will give us the information we need to get him on the right treatment plan and hopefully avoid future ER visits. The doctor said that these types of illnesses can be very difficult to manage but I'm trying to stay optimistic.
I currently have the fundraiser goal set to the lower end of his current estimated medical costs but they may end up being much higher. I appreciate any help you're able to give whether it's a donation or just sharing this fundraiser wherever you can.
