My name is Dian and and I’m fundraising to help my Mum, Rosda, and my Dad, Rachmad, and extended family who have lost their home to the devastating floods in Indonesia.

A rare tropical cyclone dumped massive amounts of rain over Sumatra from 25th November 2025 for 4 days made the worst flood in living memory and huge areas had to be evacuated. My family has moved to higher ground and their home in Lhokseumawe, Aceh was flooded up to the roof and will have to be demolished.

I’m sad to have lost the memories of my childhood in that house, including a treasured photo album with childhood photos. I’m doing everything I can to help support my family and need your help for the long road to rebuilding so they can have a home to live in again.

My family is still assessing the scale of the damage and beginning the task of returning to the home and sorting through the mess. Urgent assistance will help support them to rebuild.

We have a goal of AUD$50,000, which is he estimated cost to build a modest new floodproof (built above the flood level) family home in Aceh. We would be extremely grateful for any support that will help my family to rebuild their life and have a home to live in again. Extended family of my brother and sister and their families also live in the 3 bedroom house, so your help will be supporting 3 families to rebuild.
