Ace: Healing and Recovery Fund

UPDATE (Jan 15, 2024): Thank you for all the support you've shown. Unfortunately, after doing a lot of healing things with your support and returning to work, Ace has had to go back on medical leave.

They are currently facing a lot of uncertainty in their future. If you're able to help out, repost this or reach out to other mutual friends, it would really help them through this tough transition.

Our dear friend Ace is in need of some support right now as they heal from a health crisis. Please chip in if you can.

Ace is many things -- trained in ministry, an unofficial member of my extended family who's unfailingly kind and generous to our kids and family members, a lover of music and theater, animal caregiver, and someone who loves to explore nature on foot and by kayak.

After struggling--and doing a lot of work to overcome--emotional and physical health issues over the years, Ace has been diagnosed with autism. They are now suffering from Autistic Burnout which brings exhaustion, disregulation, depression and and slowed executive function. Even a short walk or daily tasks are a strain at the moment and they have had to take time off their job.

Ace is doing a lot of thoughtful things to heal, applying for short term disability, and reaching out to friends for help with tasks and things that can help them recover. But they need some cash to cover living expenses while healing.
