Free Massage 4 Combat/Disabled Vets
Hello, my name is Steve Wills. I am a vet and massage therapist. I was lucky enough to be attached to a command during Desert Shield and Desert Storm that kept me stateside and safe. A friend of mine was not so lucky and was shipped to the Gulf. He came back with a plethora of issues, PTSD being just one of them. I have opened a small massage studio in Birmingham MI a year and a half ago. I keep hearing about the many heroes returning home with physical and mental obstacles and think of my friend often. I realized the best way for me to give back is to give these heroes the attention they have earned, need and deserve. I am asking for donations to give these great men and women one-hour massages to assist in their treatment and recovery of the many disabling problems with which they returned home. The cost for the service is $50 per hour. My hope is to be able to give these soldiers as many as one massage per week. To break it down, the therapists, as many veterans themselves as we can staff, will get paid $30 per session. The remaining $20 will go to rent, laundry, supplies and other associated bills. We would love to have any donations as soon as possible just to get the ball rolling and get feedback from our vets. The main reason this will mean so much to me is I get to be part of a solution that strengthens the very fabric of why we fight in the first place, and to create opportunity for powerful medicine, and to breed relationships so valuable you can't put a price on them! Not to mention the honor it is to help veterans with both a career and a fighting chance to feel whole again. As far as how thankful I will be, I can not come close to putting it into words.
