Accused of DUI. Just wanted to watch game with Mom

Last year about this time I got stopped for a DUI. The police officer is claiming that the gas can I had in the driver's compartment of my hatchback was getting me high. The can was empty. This is not how getting high off gas fumes works. To fight this charge I need several thousand to pay my lawyer for trial and several thousand more to pay an expert on gas fume inhalation to come to Steuben County Indiana and disagree with the prosecution's claims. If I fail this will set a precedent that anyone in Indiana driving a car with a single compartment (like an SUV) can be sent to jail for DUI if they have a gas can in their vehicle.
