Who We Are

We are a group of five students from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville currently raising money for Young-Williams Animal Center. We are working with Young-Williams because of their strong vision of finding a home for every animal and their mission to build relationships between humans and animals.

Young-Williams is a 501(c)(3) organization that opened in 2001 and has been growing ever since. In 2018, they announced, for the first time in history, a no-kill status, saving all medically and behaviorally treatable animals that were brought in. They have been working hard alongside volunteers to find a loving home for every animal.

What We Need

On average, Young-Williams Animal Center takes in 10,000 animals a year. Caring for this many animals with all different needs requires many different resources. Money donated will go towards a program called the Animal Compassion Fund, a program that allows the shelter to save animals with extreme medical needs, such as broken bones or heart conditions.

Accepting stray and surrendered animals while also keeping them happy requires lots of different resources. We are working to raise money that will allow Young-Williams to add to their Animal Compassion Fund, which allows them to take in injured animals and assist their medical needs. Our goal is to raise $1,500 for this fund to pay for any surgeries, dental work, or neutering an animal may need.

How It Helps

As the Animal Compassion Fund grows, it will allow Young-Williams to take in more stray animals and find each a loving home. More donations can allow the shelter to provide anything an animal might need. Not only will it benefit Young-Williams, but it also helps the community by reducing the number of strays and will provide a larger choice of animals to adopt. This allows families to find an animal that is a perfect match for them and would help increase adoption rates.

How Else You Can Help

If you cannot donate directly to this GoFundMe, please post and share this campaign! There are many other ways you can help Young-Williams Animal Center, such as volunteering and attending their events. They are always looking for people willing to foster dogs and provide food and equipment needed for animal care. They accept donations of food, money, and pet supplies at the front desk during hours of operation. Adopt from Young-Williams and find your forever friend!
