Hello Everyone,
As many of you may already know my dad was in an extremely bad accident while cycling on October 8, 2018. He incurred three brain injuries, a shattered jaw, and fractured hip. He has completed all of the work on his mouth and jaw, is a work in progress with the brain injuries, and is now focusing on repairing his hip, but just found out he needs another surgery.
For those of you who may not know my Dad, he is a fighter. He is so extremely strong and I look up to him because of that. Sitting in the hospital for weeks on weeks, while also traveling back and forth to Greenville because I was still in school took a huge toll on my life. I watched my dad not knowing if he would wake up from his coma or not. It was definitely the hardest part of my life and I really could not have done it without the help and support of my family, friends, and most of all my Dads strength. I cannot forget to mention the hundreds of people who were at the hospital every single day supporting my Dad! Thank you guys so much! He has been a champ through everything and I have no doubt that he can't push thru this as well.
He has gradually begun to paint again, but has not had an income since before the accident. Traumatic brain injuries complicate all aspects of life, but he is making a lot of progress and has come really far. The surgery he needs now is to help correct the injury to his hip that was result of the accident. My dad is outside of the United States taking care of his medical needs, so fortunately it is much more cost effective.
Feel free to share this page however and with whomever you feel would like to support his situation. My dad and I greatly appreciate all the love and support!
Love,
Kendall Wachtel
