On Saturday, August 8, 2020, John drove to Fairmount Park in Philadelphia to join his extended family, The Friends of Sedgley Woods, for a community clean up.

      Like many cities in the northeastern U.S., Philadelphia had experienced damaging storms that week which left behind inches of rain, flooded streets, fallen trees, and damaged homes. While working with his friends to clear debris at the Disc Golf course in what John has referred to as his “home away from home”, a tree limb fell causing serious injury to his right leg (knee dislocation).  This injury will take several months to rehab from.

       John had recently started a new job that allowed him to provide for his 7 year old daughter, Emily. With a long recovery ahead, the ability to work in his new position has ended abruptly. As the school year approaches and with the sudden loss of income, this proud father is worried about providing the essentials for his little girl not only for the school year but for her everyday needs. 

Please Join the Disc Golf Community and the Friends of Sedgley Woods in helping John and his family in their time of need.  We all wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him on the course in the future.  Please share this with to your local club or league
