Accessible Care for Debbie Petri, Battling Brain Cancer
Donation protected
Our beautiful mother, Debbie Petri, has been battling an aggressive brain cancer called Glioblastoma Multiforme, a.k.a. GBM, since September 2022. She is still undergoing cancer treatments. Earlier this year, she was on a cancer treatment infusion drug called Avastin. This drug caused her to suffer from multiple mini-strokes and then a major stroke, which in turn has left her paralyzed on her left side. Our mom is almost completely dependent on a caregiver, which mainly is our dad, Al Petri. Ever since her diagnosis in September 2022, she hasn't been able to work. Our dad also had to stop working to be a full-time caregiver to our mother. As you can imagine, this has financially impacted our parents. Shortly after our mom was diagnosed with GBM, our dad, Al Petri, was diagnosed with non-alcoholic cirrhosis. He currently is on the liver transplant list, and a few people are looking into being a living donor for him.
As you can imagine, our mom and dad have a lot of medical appointments because of their health. It has become increasingly harder to get our mom back and forth to appointments with the vehicle that my parents have now. Since my mom is almost completely dependent on a caregiver and needs medical equipment to move her around (sit-to-stand and a wheelchair), they really need a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, which is the main reason I am creating this fundraiser. Whatever is left after purchasing a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, the rest would go towards any medical equipment they need, medical bills, and any other health care necessities.
100% of the proceeds will be given directly to Debbie Petri.
We appreciate each and every one of you for supporting her throughout this difficult journey.
If you can donate anything, it is greatly appreciated. If you can’t donate please consider sharing this fundraiser.
Thank you so much!
