At Light Street Presbyterian Church, we have long prided ourselves on our warm welcome and broad-minded inclusion. This Lenten season, it's time to add physical accessibility to that list. We are proud of our newly renovated sanctuary space and want it to be accessible to people of all abilities.
Our Accessible By Easter Campaign aims to redesign our chancel platform, adding two portable ramps, ensuring that accessibility will no longer be a barrier to worship leadership. And more visibly, our goal is to install two stairlifts to make our sanctuary space accessible from the ground floor.
When we hosted the memorial service for Rev. David Pollitt last December, it was an opportunity to celebrate his 24 years of ministry at Light Street Presbyterian Church. Now we would like to honor his legacy by installing the "Pollitt Memorial Lifts" in his memory. David advocated for a stairlift for years; it feels appropriate to name ours for him. As one member recently said, "after David lifted us up for so many years, it feels right that he would continue to do so."
Will you help us honor the legacy of Rev. Pollitt and achieve our vision of an Easter Sunday with access for all?
Any gift will help move us towards our goal of $7,500. Sharing this page on your social media platforms is another great way to amplify our effort. Thank you for your support!
