The Liberties area is 86% below the internationally recommended level of green space per person, falling short of Aarhus human rights conventions standards.

Despite few amenities and rising crime in the city, providing sport facilities for young people consistently gets overlooked.

Our training is confined to a small not pitch size area of grass, and the other clubs in the area’s do not have a pitch either. A pitch promised for the area, six years ago, has yet to be delivered.

As part of raising awareness for the need for increased recreational facilities for children in this part of the city, I am running a 60km Ultra Marathon in June, training from scratch. All proceeds will go to Sporting Liberties.
