This is the devastating reality for millions of people with cancer in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), where essential cancer drugs remain out of reach. Diagnoses often come too late. Pain relief is scarce. And treatment? Sometimes nonexistent.

At Inspire2Live , we believe that where you live should not determine whether you live. That’s why we’ve launched a global initiative to make lifesaving cancer medicines accessible, regardless of income, status, or geography.

Barbara Moss, a Stage IV colon cancer survivor and Inspire2Live advocate from the UK, remembers what it was like to be denied access to life-saving treatment simply because it was “too expensive”:

“If my family hadn’t paid for the biological drug, I would not be alive today. The drug shrank my tumours and gave me the chance to have surgery. Eighteen years later, I’m still here.”

And now, she’s fighting for others to have that same chance:

“We believe that it is inhumane to allow people to suffer and die when there is a known way of preventing this.”

The Crisis

• Only 20% of the world’s medicine reaches 80% of its population.

• Of the 83 essential cancer drugs listed by WHO, many are simply unavailable in LMICs.

• These are not rare, experimental drugs. They’re proven treatments that could be saving lives today.

This isn’t just a global health issue. It’s a matter of justice.

The Solution

Just like the successful model for HIV treatment, we can:

• Make generics available under patent in LMICs.

• Lower production costs by up to 90% after use in high-income countries.

• Enable local manufacturing and registration without harming pharma profits.

The science exists. The system works. We just need the will and the funding to make it happen.
