I am Steve Schlickman, a lifelong friend of Tom's. I am assisting him in managing the campaign. Tom's condition is now more desperate than any of us imagined, and we need your continued support to make a difference in his life. The great news is that a new matching pool of $6,000 has been set up, thanks to a generous group of donors!
Tom's Current Situation:
Tom, a widely acclaimed composer and pianist (https://www.youtube.com/@tomsplitt4853 ), is battling terminal prostate cancer. The Pandemic took away his gigs, and cancer has taken away his ability to perform. With only $2,000 left from this GoFundMe (as of 8.27.23), $800 in monthly social security, and $136 in monthly food stamps, Tom is on the brink of homelessness. He is fighting for a new treatment that can extend his life but faces financial obstacles at every turn. Most of us, after a lifetime's journey, can turn to a network of friends and family during adversity. Tom, for reasons personal to him, doesn't have that luxury.
Here's How You Can Help:
Donations Will Be Matched from a Pool of $6,000: An anonymous group has set up a matching fund for future contributions to this GoFundMe campaign. Thus, your generosity will have a greater impact!
Our Shared Goal:
By raising the GFM goal to $18,000 plus the $6,000 match, we will meet the total goal of $24,000, allowing Tom to have a decent long-term rental housing arrangement, support his medical costs and meet day-to-day living needs for up to one year. This vital support will give him the emotional and physical strength to fight his disease and focus on a new treatment that could extend his life.
Please Share Tom's Story:
Spread the word among your friends and family, because together we can make a real difference in Tom's life. It's more than just a donation; it's giving hope and dignity to someone who has given so much through his music.
Thank You for Your Continued Support:
Let's give Tom the help he urgently needs. Please donate today and know that donation with the matching funds will have an even greater impact.
