For Endometriosis surgery

My name is Sandra. My daughter is called Lauren. She has been struggling with Endometriosis since she was 16, when she was admitted to hospital with abdominal pains. The consultant said that they 'sometimes see teenage girls with abdominal pain and never find out what it is'. They discharged her with handfuls of pain medication. Nothing else.

Since then she hs seen gynaecologists, and 2 specialist surgeons. The gynaecologistsput her on Tramadol, a controlled medication, because it is so addictive. She has now been them for 5 years, since the pain became unbearable.

The specialists have both refused her surgery, because of her weight. They refused despite them described the endometriosis being 'extensive, deep penetrating and spreading'. She is 5ft 7in tall and weight around 17.5stone.

She needs this surgery to give her a life. She walks slowly for 10 minutes and she suffers hip pain. When I drive her for her monthly shop, she is in bed the rest of that day and most of the day after.

She has stage 4 endometriosis abd as it keeps growing, the pain gets worse, her health gets worse and it could kill her.

It breaks my heart to see my 33year old daughter suffer in so much pain and i would take it from her if i could. One specialist said Lauren had a 2% chance more of dying on the operating table than a thinner person. The other specialist said they had a duty of care to keep my daughter alive. O asked about the duty of care to stop the pain and give her a life.

Please could you help to fund her surgery as it seems the NHS aren't interested because she is overweight.

We are saving as much money as we can for this, but won't be able to get nearly enough on our own.

Any extra funds donated, we will make sure we give to an endometriosis charity to support other women
