Lady’s Emergency Surgery & Vet Expenses
Asking for prayers, praying that Lady is safe and comfortable today during surgery.
Lady is going in for emergency surgery today. They will be removing her gallbladder, taking a biopsy of her liver, spaying her, & doing a preventative surgery to treat future issues. This is a high risk surgery and due to the fluid found in her abdomen and liver panel findings they are very concerned. We need all of the prayers we can get right now as we have many hurdles to get through and a long healing process.
This wouldn’t be possible without Daniela Katharina and her huge heart and compassion for people and animals. She reached out on behalf of her non profit and took over financial responsibility for Lady’s vet expenses for surgery cost. She was able to contact the vet and ask them to authorize surgery without payment. They are required to pay within 30 days. So we ask thy you donate to our go fund me so we can help pay back these expenses and help out a non profit that is helping to save Lady. She will also be posting a link on how to donate!
The vet called us after we took her back in yesterday due to a high fever, discharge, and vomiting. The Dr. recommended emergency surgery that night and it would require a $6800. deposit and the price would go up. We were put in a very hard place, leading up to Thursday we had already spent $7000 to diagnose what was wrong with our baby. We had to consider the possibility that we may only have enough to euthanize her. We told her to continue antibiotics and iv, we would call early to see what financial options we could find throughout the night. My husband was furloughed when this COVID-19 began and I only work to cover our rent expenses.
I know many would say 6800. is too much to save a dog; but Lady isn’t just a dog. Lady is a best friend, she’s a big sister, she’s a protector, she’s a sunny day when it’s pouring. Lady is my baby. Anyone that’s knows me knows that Lady is always right by my side, she has been my baby since day one. We’ve been through a lot together. No matter what happens I am so thankful I had 3 years with her sweet soul. She has been the best friend a girl could have, the best friend. She has provided our little family with such big memories that will stay in our hearts forever. She has taught us all to love bigger, to seek patience, and to stop and smell the flowers or run a few more strides in a big green pasture. She will always be my best friend.
We took Lady in on Sunday April 5th. She had a high fever of 104.8 & a heart rate of 170. She was lethargic and had diarrhea. After dropping her off (which was horrible in itself, I had to tie her up and leave her then get in my car and then they came out and got her due to this virus) the Dr called to tell us she needed to be admitted immediately.
We need prayer❤️
On Sunday April 5th 2020 we brought
Lady to the emergency vet due to labored
breathing, a high temperature of 104.7, & a heart rate of 170. She has had a fever the
whole time and we have yet to bring that
down to normal. After spending $5100. to
run multiple tests and diagnostics we are
left without answers or a diagnosis.
Lady has been with us for 3 years and is the best dog anyone could ask for. She is my
best friend, a loyal family member, and the kids protector. We don’t know what we
would do without her. We ask for ask for
continued prayers while we battle
whatever is causing her pain.
The vet contacted us this morning due to a vaginal discharge that has began. They are concerned that this could be Pyrometra.
Due to her symptoms and ongoing issues
they want further testing and possible
surgery to save her. In order to admit her
back we need a pretty hefty deposit since
surgery will most likely need to be done.
Unfortunately we have tapped out for
expenses at the time due to what is going
on in the world.
My husband has been furloughed since
March 9th due to the COVID-19 and as of
right now we see no return in the near
future due to stay at home order.
Therefore we are battling financial issues with this added expense.
Please help if you can, we appreciate it
greatly❤️
