Nevaeh Abustan burn recovery 03901

This is my daughter Nevaeh. She has suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns over the thanksgiving holiday on her face, shoulders, arms, right armpit, legs and feet with the worst burns on her chest and armpit. She was rushed to our local hospital by berwick fire/rescue and was flown to mass genral by  hellicopter. she was tranfered to shriners hopital where Nevaeh and my wife Allison stayed  for about four weeks, during that time the nurses and surgeons removed all the burnt skin and replaced it with good skin from un burnt parts of her body which required both thighs and her entire back to be doner sights. During Nevaehs stay at Shriners she under went 3 surgeries for skingraphs and one sedation so they could abrasively remove blisters and loose skin. she was discharged just in time to come home for christmas. Nevaeh has had several surgeries and will continue to need more as she grows in to a young lady including skin graph adjustment,scar treatment and plastic surgery. our family has decent  insurance coverage that has covered the majority of expenses, but noncovered expenses are starting to build and her recovery will last a life time. nevaeh curently has visiting nurses, physical therapist and visiting occupational therapist to help her stretch out the skin graphs and regain/retain her mobility that was lost during the weeks she was bed ridden. she needs  daily wound care  and streatching which is a multi-hour process involving lots of crying and screaming. aswell as weekly trips to boston for checkups, more physical therapy and dressing changes. she has been a very strong little girl and the doctors say she has been healing well ,we can only hope that with some support and thearpy  she will be able to be as strong mentaly.



the goal amount is not what i hope to achive. i have know idea what cost will be incurred now or in the future. all i can hope for is my daughters recovery wont be based on what i can afford.
