Roanoke’s story is one of heartbreak...and hope.
In March, this sweet puppy was found being abused by the person he trusted most.
A good Samaritan stepped in, and when confronted, the owner abandoned him.
Roanoke, scared and injured, was taken to animal control in Clayton County, Georgia. There, it was clear something was wrong: he was emaciated, limping, and unable to put weight on all his legs.
And that is when Roanoke landed on the euthanasia list.
Someone online fell for his adorable face, and another rescue pulled him on their behalf. But when they realized he didn’t walk “right,” they gave up on him too.
Without resources to diagnose or treat him, Roanoke was at risk for being euthanized yet again.
That’s when we met him.
Despite everything, Roanoke was full of love, greeting strangers with tail wags as if nothing had ever happened.
We knew he deserved a chance, so he became a Pittie Posse dog.
Today, Roanoke is safe in Maine.
He has a warm bed, endless toys, and will never go hungry or be hurt by humans again.
But his body still carries the weight of his past. His legs tire easily, sometimes give out, and sometimes drags his toes when he walks.
A specialist has recommended six weeks of physical therapy and acupuncture to help strengthen his muscles, ease his pain, and give him the best possible quality of life.
The cost for this treatment is $1,400...and we need your help to make it happen.
Every donation, no matter the size, brings Roanoke closer to living the life he deserves: strong, happy, and pain-free.
Please donate if you can, and share his story. Together, we can help Roanoke heal.
