Car accident recovery
Donation protected
Fisrstly, Heidi needs everyone to know how blown away they are by the support and cannot express how thankful she is. Heidi was able to secure an MRI. She met with an orthopedic surgeon on Friday, unfortunately, surgery will be 6-8 months from now. However there are greater needs. Heidi and 2 of her children were in a car accident on Friday that was quite severe. Heidi is currently in the hospital with a broken leg And two broken hands valerie Has a broken arm, chemical Burns on her face and a minor TBI. Jake suffered a cut knee and bruised shoulder thankfully that was all. At this time both ladies are unable to work and bills are adding up quickly. We have made the tough decision to reopen the fundraiser to help with these needs
How Your Donations Will Help
We’ve set our fundraising goal at $10,000 CAD to help cover the immediate and ongoing needs Heidi and her children are facing during her recovery. Here's a breakdown of where the funds will go:
Loss of Income (8 weeks): $4,800
Heidi won’t be able to work while recovering from her injuries, and this will help cover her basic income needs.
Medical Costs Not Covered: $1,000
This includes prescriptions, wound care supplies, and any follow-up appointments.
Mobility Equipment & Home Adaptations: $1,200
Things like a walker, wheelchair, grab bars, and shower seat to help Heidi safely navigate her home.
Childcare & Transportation Support: $1,500
Assistance getting her kids to and from school, appointments, and daily needs.
Groceries & Essential Living Costs: $1,000
Additional support for food and supplies, especially while relying on others or delivery services.
This total gives some room for unexpected expenses or if recovery takes longer than expected. Every donation helps lighten the burden and brings Heidi one step closer to healing.
Thank you again for your support—it truly means everything.
Hi my name is Kim and I work with Heidi.
Heidi is a devoted and hardworking single mom of three children who has always done whatever it takes to care for her family. Recently, her world was turned upside down—due to serious medical issues, Heidi has been deemed medically unfit to work and has been taken off her job entirely.
Now, she’s facing the challenge of navigating a difficult healthcare journey without the financial independence she once relied on.
One of the most urgent needs is an MRI, which is crucial for further diagnosis and treatment. While it’s available just 15 minutes away in Quebec, the scan costs just over $800 and is not covered. But that’s just one piece of the puzzle. With no income coming in and ongoing medical needs, the financial pressure is mounting fast.
We’re setting a goal of $1500 to help cover the MRI and some of the immediate costs Heidi is facing—from travel to appointments, to medication, to basic living expenses while she gets through this incredibly tough time.
If you’re able to contribute—no matter the amount—it would mean the world to Heidi and her family. And if you can’t donate, sharing this page helps.
Thank you!
