Abril's fundraiser

Hello, this is the Velez family and we’re fundraising for Abril Velez.

Abril fought through pneumonia in her left lung for weeks, leaving her with short breath and collapses in her heart. After weeks of fighting through the illness, her lungs started to collapse and her heart started to weaken. Today, we mourn the loss of a beautiful angel who meant the world to her friends and family.

Abril was a bright, caring, and loving soul who always thought of everyone before herself. She always made sure her family, her friends, and her surroundings were filled with love and joy. She was the kind of person to demonstrate compassion and gratitude. She always showed courage and always made sure to be there for the ones who needed her. She always enjoyed the company of everyone, and she was always the light and joy in the room.

What Abril meant to me and my sisters: Abril was our big sister, she was our best friend, and our second mother. She was the tia of our first nephew. She was our best friend, the one we looked up to the most. She was our second mother, the woman we hope to be one day. And she was the greatest example of love and joy in our lives. As we grieve, putting her to rest will give us closure.
