About to be evicted due to Covid-19
My name is Elizabeth, I am a disabled transwoman freelance writer that has always lived paycheck to paycheck. In the past year I wound up helping my mother when she had a stroke and that took time from me being able to write. I was getting back into work when Covid struck, and with people not willing to hire freelancers as much during the pandemic, I have not been able to make money for the past 4 months.
The stimulus check helped a bit, but not much. Unfortunately then in June my roommate who helped pay the rent moved out without any warning, the bank account I used was hacked which led to my mom whom i shared the account with due to her stroke to close the account leaving me unable to pay the rent, and then I wound up having an outbreak of MRSA due to catching the superbacteria during the time I helped her with her stroke. I also have an upcoming surgery due to a separate infection in some organs to remove them.
I have not been able to pay the rent or bills from June to now as I've only just got a new bank account set up, but I also don't have the money to pay that due to late fees and other things. I don't like asking help for myself, but if I don't I won't have anywhere to go, and neither will my girlfriend who is also disabled and my adorable cat that has brain damage. I want to keep those I care about safe as I await my disability to go through, so please I need help.
My life has never been easy and asking for help is new for me. When I was younger I was stabbed in the shoulder, dragged on a road by a car, had my leg enter a bike chain, had boiling oil spilled on my stomach and chest, had an umbrella go mostly through my hand, fell off a roof and many other injuries over the years. As I got older I developed several medical conditions I didn't e coming including, gallbladder disease, glaucoma, and ulcerative colitis developed I have also been the victim of assaults that lead to me developing ptsd and phobias dealing with people and going outside. And through all of those I never sued, never asked others for assistance other than doctors, and even went as long as I could without filing disability.
But over the last year after helping my mother, starting a gofundme to help her, and dealing with new conditions, hospitalizations, and another looming surgery, not to mention dwindling work prospects due to Covid19 and a delay as I wait for my disability to go through due to the slowdown of everything caused by covid and the quarantines, I don't really have a choice now.
Now I am being sued by my landlords over what occurred this summer and they are charging me more than what I previously owed... a lot more. I am being sued for $3044 by the trailer park. I was just subpoenaed today September 18, 2020 at 1 PM PST with the lawsuit. I have ten days to either reply to the subpoena or pay it off. I am having endless panic attacks at the moment and feel like I am about to fall apart.
Thanks so far to those who have donated both here and on paypal.
