Help a BIPOC couple move to a safer home

Donation protected
We have been dealing with a re-occurring problems in our home that our landlord continues to neglect so this has led to our decision to move back home to Florida  to live in a safer space.

Earlier this year (Feb.) we contacted our landlord in regards to finding black mold growing in our kitchen and on all of our window sills, we were given a very laxed attitude and she sent her husband to give us chemical cleaners and then he proceeded to wipe down our window sills. She later sent an air quality inspector to investigate and neglected to give us the results until a week ago (so we waited 10 months for results when we were told we would get the results in a few days), however, the only reason why she gave us the results is because we emailed her again (Dec.) letting her know that we have done all that we can to mitigate the situation & that the mold was getting worse, this time growing in our bedroom along with our windowsills and bathroom.

My partner who has asthma has seen a drastic change for the worst in his breathing, I myself have been feeling some affects of vertigo, lethargy, body pains and trouble breathing throughout these months.
Living in a world where a pandemic exist our landlord continued to neglect or prioritize our safety.
We are doing what we can to fight this but this whole ordeal has caused us to really consider moving back home. Its an exhausting battle to argue with our landlord because she is also a lawyer in Portland who also is involved in the politics; running for circuit judge this past year. Her attitude is always defensive & belittling and we just no longer want to deal with her and all the drama living here has caused us.

Being unemployed during this pandemic & only running TUME as a main income has been a hard thing to navigate and moving out was definitely something that me and my partner just had to do but we were faced with a difficult decision because unfortunately rent has raised so much here in Portland that it just wouldn't make sense for us to stay and live here to only just get by.

That is why we have made such a big and sudden decision to move back home to our folks in Florida. Spend some time with them in continue to grow TUME, of course all of this isn't easy and the journey across the country is far from cheap. We will be traveling across country with movers as well as our car since we have two family pets to move with as well.  We also have my partners car who will be shipped across country so we only take one straight shot home.

We hope with the communities support that it will help us get home, we know times are tough for everyone but even if its a $1 or a simple share it would mean the world to us!

We are asking $12,000 to be able to afford the following expenses for our move.

Moving Pod: $8,000
Car Transport: $1,500
Gas: $250
Hotels: $400
Car Service/tire/oil change etc.: $500-$800
Storage Unit: $125
Food/Emergency: $900

We would also like to give back that to those who donate the following:
$50:  You receive a 3-pack of alfajores
$100: You receive 5 Recipes
$200+:  You receive 10 recipes, a 3-pack of alfajores & a Raw chocolate Bar

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone that's helped me along this journey of being a business owner. Thank you to all mi familia here who have supported me and for all the kinds words that's been shared. I am forever grateful for this community.
