Ciao, sono Matilde, antropologa visuale. Sto portando avanti una ricerca audiovisiva che ruota attorno a due domande fondamentali: Cosa significa abitare? Cos’è un territorio?

Per me, non si tratta solo di spazi fisici o confini. Abitare è relazione, ascolto, cura. Il territorio è fatto di corpi, di storie che si intrecciano, di comunità che si formano e si trasformano. Esploro come luoghi e persone costruiscono significati condivisi, come si prendono cura l’uno dell’altro e di ciò che li circonda, anche oltre l’umano.

Dove si svolge la ricerca?

Tra Torino e la provincia di Cuneo, interrogando i territori stessi attraverso persone, corpi d’acqua, stratificazioni del tempo, architetture spontanee, forme di alleanza e convivenza più che umana. È un’esplorazione che segue il ritmo degli incontri, un percorso più istintivo e intuitivo che prestabilito.

Perché ho bisogno del tuo aiuto?

Ho iniziato con le risorse che avevo, con un approccio semplice e sostenibile. Di solito mi muovo a piedi e in bicicletta, prediligendo spostamenti lenti e attenti.

Hi, I am Matilde, a visual anthropologist. I am conducting audiovisual research that revolves around two fundamental questions: What does it mean to inhabit? What is a territory?

For me, it's not just about physical spaces or boundaries. Dwelling is about relationship, listening, caring. Territory is made up of bodies, of stories that intertwine, of communities that form and transform. I explore how places and people construct shared meanings, how they care for each other and their surroundings, even beyond the human.

Where does the research take place?

Between Turin and the province of Cuneo, interrogating the territories themselves through people, bodies of water, layers of time, spontaneous architecture, forms of alliance and coexistence that are more than human. It is an exploration that follows the rhythm of encounters, a path more instinctive and intuitive than predetermined.

Why did I need your help?

I started with the resources I had, with a simple and sustainable approach. I usually move on foot and by bicycle, preferring slow and careful movements.
