In 2027 I am travelling to Kenya to volunteer on a four week expedition with Camps International.

I will be working with other volunteers on a range of sustainable and meaningful community and conservation projects.

In Kenya around 51% of the population live in absolute poverty. As volunteers we will be working on projects specific to the regional needs to better the lives of the communities we will be working with. These projects include:

Construction (houses, schools and medical centres)

Conservation

Education

This is a once in a lifetime experience to support projects which are designed to provide sustainable longterm support to communities in some of the most rural areas.

As part of this experience, we have been encouraged to fundraise ourselves. I have already raised start-up funds by collecting cups at the Isle of Wight festival this year and I will be selling shortbread through local outlets. I also have lots of ideas for events and sponsored activities so watch this space!
