Abigale & Stephen Foy's NICU journey

Hello. As many of you know, Abigale and Stephen Foy have been over the moon excited to be welcoming their first little bundle of joy in July. As someone who is on staff at Grace Church with Abigale and has been receiving weekly, if not daily updates on their growing baby throughout the pregnancy, I wanted to give everyone an update. At 26 weeks pregnant, Abigale went in for a routine appointment and found herself admitted into Francsican Health Hospital in Lafayette, an hour away from their home. Her initial reason for being admitted was for extreme high blood pressure, but quickly turned into pre-eclampsia. This immediately put her on bedrest in the hospital with the hopes of reaching 30 weeks, then their next goal would be 34 weeks. With these new complications, unknowns, and unexpected medical needs- Abigale and Stephen made the decision to have her resign from Grace Church as the Elementary Childhood Director. Allowing her to prepare for any medical needs that would arise and also to be home with the baby when that time came. A few days later, on April 29th at just 27 weeks 6 days gestational, Abigale had an emergency c-section and sweet baby boy Abraham Sutton Foy made his debut in the world. As much as this was not in their plans, we know God's hand is in every step and decision going forward. Since dropping down to 1 income and being so far from home, we are hoping to ease some stress from medical bills and housing options they will be faced with. As of now, Abraham will be kept in the NICU till at least early August, but could be longer depending on procedures and possible surgeries. Abigale isn't allowed to drive for 6 weeks due to her c-section and Stephen has to return to work, so this financial support will be used for housing options near the hospital (no options through the hospital are available), medical bills, groceries, gas, and all of the things it takes to be away from their home during Abraham's NICU stay. This has been and will continue to be a journey of unknowns for the Foys. We will continue to update here when we know more.
