Abigail's Miracle
Donation protected
We are coming together to provide support for the Passino Family. Brad and Emily's oldest daughter, Abigail (22 months old), is fighting severe pneumonia.
Abigail was rushed to Doernbecher Children's Hospital on Thursday, July 28th with difficulty breathing following a viral infection (not Covid). She was immediately admitted and it has been a journey of ups and downs ever since concerning her lung health while fighting severe bacterial pneumonia.
As of August 7th, Abigail is in the pediatric ICU with two chest tubes, on oxygen, and receiving nutrition through a feeding tube. They will insert a third chest tube today to drain additional fluid off her lungs. The prayer is the chest tubes will allow her to continue to breathe on her own and avoid a ventilator. The antibiotics are currently working and now she just needs to be able to breathe on her own to give her lungs time to heal.
Abigail’s lungs are still incredibly ill and she has a long road to recovery ahead of her. Without any additional complications, Abigail will be in the ICU for another week or two until the chest tubes are removed and she is stable enough to move to the recovery floor for physical, occupational, and feeding therapy. She will be in therapy for a few weeks to relearn how to use her muscles to sit up, walk, eat, play, etc. before being released to go home.
Thank you for your prayers and outpouring of support for Abigail and her family, Brad, Emily and baby sister Gracie. They so appreciate and are being blessed by the flood of care for their family during this incredibly difficult time. We are praying and believing for Abigail’s Miracle!
