Dear family and friends both old and new friends (anyone who reads this can consider themselves a new friend.)
I’m Gail (Abigail) and if you know me, you know I’m a pretty happy-go-lucky person. Or at least I was until a few months ago.
All of the sudden, I started having serious GI issues. And now, my pain is making daily tasks near impossible.
Diagnosis of GI diseases isn’t easy, and lots of doctors don’t take a kid very seriously when they say they’re in pain.
CW: Gross Medical Stuff
I’m bleeding on a pretty regular basis, which is really scary. I have a lot of trouble going to the bathroom, and I have debilitating stomach cramps. Advil and fiber just isn’t going to cut it.
I’ve also experienced a fair bit of unexplained weight loss and chronic fatigue.
While writing this, I’m stuck in the ER for the second time this month. My GP ignored the CT results from the hospital that showed spots in my GI tract and major inflammation along with a diagnosis of colitis, refusing to fill my pain medication while I wait for a colonoscopy that is weeks away.
So I’m back at the hospital, looking for answers.
With all of these that said, I need support. Even if you can’t support me monetarily, I appreciate you all for taking the time to read this.
Thank you for listening to me, and believing me.
