Abigail Thompson Memorial Fund

Donation protected

Abigail Thompson was 27 years old and died
from a drug overdose on Tuesday, July 21,  2020.
She was a beautiful person with a  terrible
disease.

She was kind and would light up the room when she walked in.   She was the most optimistic
person I have ever known and continually
struggled in an attempt to overcome her
addiction.

She loved hanging with friends, was always
ready to help someone, or fight for the
underdog.  She loved music and going to live
shows such as Phil Lesh (from the Grateful
Dead) and Papadosio; hula hooping and her
little dog Sookie.

Abigail struggled with addiction for the past
ten years.   Throughout her addiction she was an active member of Narcotics Anonymous and
was in a variety of treatment centers and female recovery  houses.

Abigail’s family has decided to start the
Abigail Thompson Memorial Fund to honor
Abigail.

The Abigail Thompson Memorial Fund will be
used to support young women in early recovery while they are living at New Points,  a local
recovery house in Belair, Maryland.

Abigail lived at the New Points recovery home.
I have personally witnessed young women
transforming themselves into beautiful,
confident women in RECOVERY because of the support that the staff at New Points provided to them.

Often women enter a recovery house with only the clothes on their back. We’d like to use your
donation to provide these women with basic
necessities that aren’t covered by insurances.

Many have reached out to me about sending
flowers and in lieu of flowers I am asking you to
consider contributing to the Abigail
Thompson Memorial  Fund through this
Go-Fund Me page.

Additionally we will be celebrating Abigail’s  life and fundraising for the memorial fund on
September 12, 2020, starting at 2:00 pm. Details to follow.

Please come, bring pictures and share your
favorite memories of Abigail.

Let’s use this tragic event to make the  transition from active addiction to RECOVERY a little
easier for other young  women.

I believe Abigail would love this idea!  Please
share  this with anyone who knew and loved
 Abigail.

Please give generously and often!
