My name is Malia Knox and I am 9 years old and I want to SEE more strong female role models in my community! There are only 3 statues
honouring women in Brisbane and I want to change that!

Thank you to all of our amazing donors who have helped us reach our goal so that we can have an incredible statue of Abigail Allwood
outside our local planetarium so young girls like me can learn more about her inspirational story and contribution to space exploration.  A special thank you to the amazing team at SOCO, a local IT Consultancy, who pushed us across the line so that we can celebrate positive female role models together. 

We will be using these funds alongside support from the organisations Women in Technology and Statues for Equality to make this
amazing statue a reality. We aren’t stopping yet though! Any donations above and beyond our target will go directly towards making this
statue even bigger and better as well as supporting our future projects  to bring more female statues to our home in Queensland.

Even if you can only afford $5 or $10 we would love your support so together we can bring equality for women into another area of our
community.

Geologist and Astrobiologist, Dr Abigail Allwood, born and educated in Brisbane, is at the cutting-edge of space exploration and is not only the first Australian, but also the first woman to lead a team on a NASA Mars Mission. Abigail designed a new technology known as PIXL which is currently mounted on the robotic arm of a Mars rover looking for evidence of early life forms
