ANDREA BOCELLI FOUNDATION - CON TE PER  DISEGNARE IL FUTURO - EMERGENZA COVID19

25 aprile 2020

1. Creazione di una biblioteca di devices, in grado di permettere agli studenti di connettersi con insegnanti ed educatori;
2. Elaborazione di piattaforma per l’ABF Lab, che consentirà l’accesso a una serie di contenuti on line anche interattivi per l’educazione;

ANDREA BOCELLI FOUNDATION - WITH YOU TO SHAPE THE FUTURE - COVID-19 EMERGENCY

2020, April the 25th

In just a few days from the launch of the fundraising campaign in favor of the Covid Hospital in Camerino and many other Hospitals, we have reached the target of 690,000 euros which have allowed us to send 4 lung ventilators to the intensive care unit of the COVID hospital in Camerino,, to create a new 30-bed COVID ward at the hospital of Macerata in just 10 days, to support on a weekly base and provide personal protective equipment to hospitals in Tuscany and Marche region.
 We have decided not to stop here, thanks to your generosity, ABF continues to raise funds to support a project dedicated to the second phase of this emergency, to the future, to the young students and to the digital education. The project has been developedin partnership with the National Pediatric Hospitals Association, with the aim of including also the schools in the pediatric hospitals, in order to provide equal access to education to every student.

Access to education has always been the cornerstone of ABF’s work, both within Italy and abroad, and the embodiment of its mission of “empowering people and communities”.That is why ABF has chosen to offer tangible support to students, families and their teachers with a pilot initiative that is looking to enhance distance learning and which sees them, once again, standing with communities that find themselves in difficult situations. During this global health emergency, approximately 91% of students worldwide are continuing their education through distance learningand, according to recent data released by the Italian National Institute of Statistics, in Italy 57% of under-17s must share their computer or tablet with their family, while 12.3% do not have one at all.
Thanks to the funds raised, ABF wishes to continue to support children and young people, with a pilot project, the ABF schoolsof Sarnano (11-14), Muccia (3-10), Lajatico (0-6) and, in partnership with the National Pediatric Hospitals Association(AOPI), to the schools in the pediatric hospitalsof Gaslini Hospital in Genova and Santo Bono Hospital in Naples to enhance distance learning and provide students with the resources and tools required for educational innovation.
ABF aims to continue this project with a national approach to the activity.

Specifically, ABF’s new distance learning initiatives will strive to:

1. Create a library of devices, so as to allow students to connect with their teachers and educators;
2. Develop a platform for the ABF Lab, which will allow access to a series of online educational content, including interactive content;
3. Train the professional role of the digital atelierista, a 4.0 librarian able to support teachers, parents and students on the correct usage of the tools and on how to use the same tools to maintain and develop relationships.

With You, we have donated schools, music rooms, workshops, and hope to many children.
With You we have chosen to believe in their talent and their dreams.
Today the COVID-19 emergency represents a new challenge to overcome.
With You we want to donate teaching resources and tools.
To overcome the barrier of distance and continue to offer opportunities for personal growth.
With You to draw the future.

Like every single Italian citizen, ABF has complied with the Italian government's guidelines on the prevention of the spread of what, besides being a virus, seems to represent an element of social and community disintegration.

The Foundation stays at home, but continues to work so that every day those people and communities where we have chosen to work can build a future of opportunities and beauty.
 And we are going even further: today ABF is offering concrete support to people who are at the forefront at the moment called to protect and treat us.
To those who directly and indirectly protect us, our loved ones, our families.

In particular, ABF has chosen to support the Covid Hospital in Camerino, the community in which the Foundation has launched a post-2016 earthquake reconstruction project, to raise funds which will be used to purchase medical equipment such as respirators and monitors. ABF will receive the funds donated to GoFundMe and will pay for the aforementioned medical material and then donate it to the Camerino hospital.
The Foundation stays at home, but continues to work so that every day those people and communities in which we have chosen to work can build a future of opportunities and beauty.

We will keep you posted on what we will be able to do also thanks to your contribution.

We strongly believe in the value of staying close, united, in this moment, because only love and solidarity are able to bridge and erase that physical distance that is now imposed on us.

With You, it will all be fine.
With you, we will be able to rediscover the strength of a hug.
With you, to draw the future.
