Hello, we are Nichola and Jessica and we are raising funds on behalf of a local family.

On Saturday 28th February the unthinkable happened to a local Abertillery family. Rhys woke to discover a fire had broken out in the attic. His first thought was to get his two young children to safety. Thankfully they all escaped unscathed. The fire however took hold and totally destroyed the roof and the rest of the house has suffered immense damage. The house needs to be gutted back to the bare bricks and all contents have been destroyed. Rhys works hard to care for his family and is a very busy dad. He unfortunately has no house insurance as he believed it auto renewed and this was not the case . So now he has to personally finance the rebuilding costs and the refitting costs for his home which he shares with his two children aged 6 and 9. Initially Rhys wanted to fund this with family help. However after receiving an initial quote for a replacement roof he has realised this is an impossible task. We are appealing on Rhys’s behalf for any contribution no matter how small as we know how our community is capable of supporting one of their own.
