Abenaki History and Farmer Seed Fund

This two-fold fundraiser will support an Abenaki author as well as dairy farmers in Caledonia, Orange, and Windsor county.

1. Carol Irons, an Abenaki Elder and member of the VT Council on Native American Affairs, has written down the oral history of Vermont, Vermont Abenakis: a Brief History of the People of the Dawnland, Vermont's First Human Inhabitants. All donations of $30 or more will receive one copy of this text. All proceeds up to $30 will go directly to the author.

2. The White River Conservation District is also fundraising for a seed mixture for farmers who are increasing rotational grazing with their cows. Our goal is to provide each of the 12 farmers in our "Transition-to-Better-Grazing Cohort" a 50lb bag of a pasture seed blend (white & red clover, rye, and chicory) to improve their pastures. Any portion of donations over $30 will go directly into the seed fund.
