Abel’s jaw surgery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Josef and This fundraiser is for my dog’s(Abel) jaw surgery. For those who know me, I’m not the best with asking for help. But in this situation, I’m willing to do something completely I’m not comfortable with.
This past long weekend, we went camping with some friends(and their kids). We had an amazing time up until the last night. Without us initially noticing, one of the neighbouring campers dog got loose and decided to come check out our spot. Out of nowhere, we hear someone yelling “come get your dog”. So as I walk up to see what was going on. I see the other dog and owner inside the entrance of our site, right by our cars. Obviously Abel notice them before any of us, cause there he was to investigate. I’m guessing before the other dog could get any closer to us, Abel got in between to greet him(like most dogs would). Pretty sure Abel sensed that the other dog had an aggressive demeanour, and wouldn’t let him get any closer. The other dog took that as a challenge and that escalated to a fight. With the other owner being much closer to the dogs, you would think he would try and grab his dog to break it up. But instead this knucklehead was trying to kick both dogs thinking that would stop the fight. Luckily I managed to scramble towards them and get a hold of my dog and pulled him away. Only then the other owner had the balls to come grab his dog. Both dogs were bleeding. And even as mad as I was, I still asked him if his dog was okay. And he comes back with “They’re both bleeding, so I guess we’re even”. At this point, it was obvious I wasn’t going to get anywhere civil with this guy. So we ended the situation with me telling him “if you know your dog isn’t that friendly, it’s probably not a good idea to let him rush into other peoples spot or maybe just keep him on a leash”.. And they went about their way. Who knows, if Abel wasn’t there..that could’ve easily been one of us or even worse, any of the kids!
I took Abe to rinse off the blood on his face and check for damage. Noticed that his mouth got it the worst, bleeding from the bottom of his gum line. Within closer inspection, it looked like his gum line was broken in half. So when we got back home, I took him to the vet. Only to confirm that it’s a broken jaw/gum line and will need a very expensive 2 procedure dental surgery, costing anywhere from $4000-6000. Depending on extended damage we can’t see until they cut him open. Unfortunately I’m in quite the bind, and not sure if I can get that amount ASAP. So here I am asking for help from anyone who can help us with anything that’ll piece my boy back together!
From the bottom of my heart..
Thank you all for any
best wishes/prayers/checkups & donations. We appreciate every bit of it!!
