Hi everyone, this is gonna be hard to write about and i’m gonna try my best to explain this as well as possible. My name is Ash and i’m abels girlfriend. I want to start off first by getting you all to know who abel is. Abel to many of us who are close to him is a great friend, boyfriend , best friend , big brother, and son to loving parents. Abel is one of the most energetic , fun, spontaneous, kind, friendly, amazing person anyone could ever meet. He is the person that lights up the room whenever he walks in it and welcomes absolutely everyone with a smile. Abel for the most part has lived a very normal , overall healthy life up until recent events when everything changed suddenly. Abel just graduated recently from high school on June 6,2023. After a night of celebration off he went to Disneylands grad nite. June 7,2023 everything had changed for him that night. He suddenly had a very large pain in his abdomen and rushed to the emergency room that night when grad nite was ending around 2am. After weeks after weeks of so much excruciating pain and anxiety and scans after scans abel had dealt with, the doctors and specialists were still having a hard time trying to figure out the problem. They seemed to rule out cancer which was relieving and what we feared for awhile. he was soon diagnosed with a abdominal hematoma. After undergoing about two surgery’s and two weeks at CHLA the mass was drained and he was able to come home. That same day he was released home , we received a phone call that they found a tumor under the mass and abel was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma cancer , a rare type of cancer found in the soft tissue. After leaps of hope that it was all solved , there came the shock for all of us that abel had cancer would soon have to start chemotherapy followed with radiation therapy. This was all a shock to us with his sudden cancer diagnoses at the age of 17. There is no direct history of cancer or serious health issues in abel’s family so this all came to a large shock to not only his friends and family but to him. It’s definitely caused a very large pause and impact on his life as he had just graduated and he was planning to go to college and start the pathway to his adult life and future. Abel has been nothing but so strong and as optimistic as he could be ever since his diagnoses. We live about a two hour drive away from CHLA so the transportation costs have added up greatly from going almost every day. These expenses that i am working to make up for abel will help his family greatly and cover the expenses that would help immensely due to a single member of his family covering majority of the expenses , leaving him to not be able to be home often from working very often to provide for their family of five. please share as much as you can, any donation is so beyond appreciated. i hope abel’s story has inspired some of you to cherish your health and life , anything can happen all of a sudden no matter what state or age you’re in. Thank you all so much
