Friends and family,

Clara and her husband Abel have been married for 43 years. They have 4 children and 8 beautiful grandchildren. They have spent their lives loving each other, loving the Lord, and sharing the Gospel to anyone who will listen. Abel has been a pastor and minister of the gospel for 27 years. He has devoted his life to ministry and winning souls for heaven. I have had the privilege of knowing the Hurtado family for 27 years. They have seen my boys grow up and have been faithful and reliable friends.

Unfortunately, Abel has recently been diagnosed with the “C” word, gastric Cancer. They have a long road ahead. Currently, they are in Houston at the MD Anderson Cancer hospital. The doctors have been unable to identify what stage the cancer is. The stomach is closing and his health has been deteriorating quickly. Abel is unable to eat or even keep water down at the present moment. Clara is and will be by Abel’s side every step of the way.

We are asking for prayer first as the Hurtado family navigates treatment, finances, and life during this time. They know and believe in the power of prayer.

We are also asking for financial support for the Hurtado family to cover medical expenses and bills as Clara has not been able to work. She has quickly exhausted all of her vacation pay. Unfortunately, life doesn’t pause and bills can’t go unpaid because Abel has been diagnosed with cancer. The Hurtado family realize they need community and support to make it through this battle.
