Hi, my name is Bianca Briones, and I am the eldest daughter of Abelina Briones.

Lina was a 45 year old daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and victim of cancer. In July of 2022, she was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma, or bile duct cancer. Cholangiocarcinoma is often diagnosed when it is advanced, making it incurable and successful treatment difficult. Lina fought hard for months, enduring treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation, that came along with painful side effects. She went through each treatment gracefully and without complaints or questioning. Lina remained faithful and strong through it all and continued to be a loving provider for her family.

Over the summer of 2023, Lina began to deteriorate due to the cancer spreading and treatment becoming ineffective. She dealt with an immense and constant pain that caused continuous lack of sleep and an inability to nourish herself properly. She spent her last month in and out of the hospital for weeks at a time. On September 1st, Lina succumbed to her illness and passed away, surrounded by her favorite people, her family.

Lina will be missed greatly by many. Her family will greatly appreciate the help and support of those inclined to do so. Thank you in advance to everyone!

Hola, mi nombre es Bianca Briones y soy la hija mayor de Abelina Briones.

Lina era una hija, hermana, esposa, madre, abuela y víctima de cáncer de 45 años. En Julio del 2022, le diagnosticaron colangiocarcinoma, o cáncer de vías biliares. El colangiocarcinoma a menudo se diagnostica cuando está avanzado, lo que lo hace incurable y difícil de tratar con éxito. Lina luchó duro durante meses, soportando tratamientos como quimioterapia y radiación, que conllevaron dolorosos efectos secundarios. Realizó cada tratamiento con gracia y sin quejas ni preguntas. Lina se mantuvo fiel y fuerte a pesar de todo y continuó siendo una proveedora amorosa para su familia.

Durante el verano del 2023, Lina comenzó a deteriorarse debido a que el cáncer se propagó y el tratamiento se volvió ineficaz. Lidiaba con un dolor inmenso y constante que le provocaba una continua falta de sueño y una incapacidad para alimentarse adecuadamente. Pasó su último mes entrando y saliendo del hospital durante semanas seguidas. El 1 de septiembre Lina sucumbió a su enfermedad y falleció rodeada de sus personas favoritas, su familia.

Muchos extrañarán demasiado a Lina. Su familia agradecerá enormemente la ayuda y el apoyo de quienes estén dispuestos a hacerlo. ¡Gracias de antemano a todos!
