Abel was a hardworking, supportive, and loving husband who was married to Eduarda for 49 years. Last year, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. It was difficult for Abel but also difficult for his family to watch such a strong, independent man become dependent on care from others. On April 22nd, he lost his battle with this devastating, unforgiving disease. He will be missed by so many.

With the diagnosis came several other medical complications and sadly, over several months a number of hospital stays. It was not expected that Abel would pass this soon, so it has put an unexpected financial burden on his wife and family. Abel didn’t have much life insurance or extra funds to cover funeral costs and there are still medical costs that have been incurred with his fight.

Abel had a heart of gold and helped anyone that would ask but the most important thing to him was making sure his family was taken care of. His wife needs our help & support.

All donations will go to medical and funeral costs and with any residual funds a donation will be made to the “Alzheimer’s Association Maine chapter” and Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland Maine Animal  Shelter
