Abel Pacheco in Rapides Hosp ICU since 12-9

Dear friends, my name is Heather Poole. I’m sharing this GoFundMe account to support a friend I met over 10 years ago—Abel Pacheco. The funds raised will be to support Abel and his beautiful family. Abel has been in the ICU at Rapides hospital in Alexandria, LA due to complications due to Pneumonia which caused him to go septic. After days on the ventilator and the uncertainty of his future we are relieved to learn that by the GRACE of God he is being moved to a regular room!!! AMEN!!!

Abel owns and operates a small tile installation business with his son…and trust me THEY ARE THE BEST in Cenla! But, HE and his son (Edgar— age 25) THEY ARE THE BUSINESS!! Their business support his entire family…his wife of nearly 30 years and two beautiful daughters ages 15 & 24. Before Abel was hospitalized he had a kidney removed in New Orleans…days later he returned to work before contracting pneumonia. This work ethic not unusual for Abel…anyone that knows Abel will tell you about his amazing work ethic and unwavering honesty nature. Abel has been on dialysis for over 10 years and has never let it interfere with his work. He recently had his kidney removed in an effort to become a candidate for the transplant list. This 53 year old…has been very healthy (minus not having functioning kidneys!) BUT, trust me he is NOT your average guy! I feel blessed to have become his friend and witness this man at work. I look forward to see him get a kidney and see how his life will change.

BUT, now…I know that his family needs financial support. He has not worked much since he had his kidney was removed at the end of October and NEVER expected to get pneumonia.
