We have been licensed foster parents since 2008. After two biological children, two children adopted through foster care and numerous foster placements, we started seeing the great need for temporary shelter while babies await foster placement. After trying to meet this need in our home since 2014, we have decided to open a separate residence to shelter more babies at a time.
There are over 60,000 children in the foster care system in California. There is a huge shortage of foster parents. Especially in Los Angeles County. It can take a social worker up to 100 calls to find a placement for ONE baby.
Our shelter will help change that. In our home, we are only able to take one baby at a time, but in the shelter, we are licensed for 6 babies! 6 babies that won't have to sleep in an office building while they wait for a foster home!
