Abe lost everything when his apartment exploded

Everyone dislikes Daylight Savings Time, but Abe's apartment building took "spring forward" to the next level when it exploded around 3:00 on Sunday morning.

Thankfully, Abe was actually at home in Kewadin this weekend, and miraculously all his neighbors escaped the fire with their lives. But the building was totally destroyed -- even the cars in the parking lot were burned beyond recovery.

Abe has lost absolutely everything. His car, his clothes and shoes, all his household necessities, and perhaps most importantly, his laptop and textbooks. Michigan Tech is stepping up to provide housing in the short term, but it will be a long and expensive process to replace everything that was destroyed.
