A Solar Well Giving Water & Farming to 700 for Abdurrahman

Salam alaykum dear friends and family,

A few days ago, my beloved brother Abdurrahman returned to Allah ﷻ. He was gentle, loving, and full of kindness, and his loss has left a deep emptiness in our hearts..

In his honor, I’m raising funds to build a solar-powered water well as a ṣadaqah jāriyah (صدقة جارية) for him. This well will be equipped with a deep tube well, solar panels, and a submersible electric pump — providing clean drinking water to 700 people and supporting farming for 100 families in rural Pakistan.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

"The best charity is giving water to drink." (Ahmad)

And he also said:

إِذَا مَاتَ الإِنسَانُ انْقَطَعَ عَنْهُ عَمَلُهُ إِلاَّ مِنْ ثَلاَثَةٍ: إِلاَّ مِنْ صَدَقَةٍ جَارِيَةٍ، أَوْ عِلْمٍ يُنْتَفَعُ بِهِ، أَوْ وَلَدٍ صَالِحٍ يَدْعُو لَهُ

“When a person dies, all their deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for them.”

(Sahih Muslim)

Through this project, inshaAllah, Abdurrahman will continue receiving reward every single day — with every drop of water that is drunk, and every crop that is grown.

Even though he is no longer with us in this world, we are not powerless. We can pray for him, forgive him, and do good on his behalf. This well will be a source of life for others and a source of light in his grave.

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ، وَعَافِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنْهُ، وَأَكْرِمْ نُزُلَهُ، وَوَسِّعْ مُدْخَلَهُ

“O Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, pardon him, honor his place of rest, and make his grave spacious.”

(Sahih Muslim)

You may notice that the fundraiser goal is slightly higher than the exact cost of the well. This is because GoFundMe applies a small transaction fee (2.9% + 0.30 CHF per donation) to cover secure payment processing.

To ensure we can still reach the full amount needed for the well, without falling short due to these fee - the goal has been adjusted slightly.
