Abduction and Near Fatal Accident - Lauren Dias

Hi, my name is Lauren Dias, and on August 28th, 2021, I was abducted in Portugal while on vacation. Accompanied by my cousin, mother, and her boyfriend, we went out to celebrate our first night there. A family friend had shown up whom id never met before, and as the night went on was given the responsibility of taking me and my cousin home; once the time came, we'd find out that was not what he truly had in mind. We were taken to the middle of nowhere. I was sexually assaulted and drugged, which all lasted for about 4 hours. Around 4 am, I was in the right backseat of the vehicle when the man driving crashed into a guard rail on a mountainside. The car flipped five times, and since I was unsecured in the backseat, I flung around the vehicle, unable to brace any of the hits until it finally stopped. When I gained consciousness, My body was completely stuck halfway out the back windshield. EMT'S arrived to the scene about 40 minutes later and had to cut me out. I was rushed to the nearest hospital and went into surgery immediately.I broke 10 bones, (collar bone, shoulder blade, 4 ribs, 3 transverse processes, wrist) punctured 3 organs, (liver, kidney, bladder) had to get glass extracted out of my hands and arms, and also have permanent scar tissue dents on my hip and arm (pictured). Ive been extremely hesitant to start a Gofundme this past year because I've honestly felt embarrassed to ask for help, but I am struggling financially, physically and mentally. My inability to work this past year due to everything has made my healing journey extraordinarily stressful and impossible seeming. Having to constantly have to be at a different doctor's office weekly for checkups, surprise MRIS, physical therapy, and regular therapy has also made this all very overwhelming, especially because I don't have a car. With the cost of living also being so high right now, it becomes unfeasible to pay for daily expenses. Attorney / translator fees for the trial going on there is a huge expense as well. Seriously Any amount would help, even just a dollar! Thank you, everyone.
