Hi, my name is Annie, many people know me as Luna or Lunarnia on twitter and twitch.
I'm currently a freelance illustrator and my family resides in China while I try to achieve my dreams and career as an artist here in the states by myself. My mom is 63 and my dad is 70 this year.
This morning, I received a call from my mom that my dad fainted because he had stomach pains all day. The doctors said he needed to be admitted to the ICU and needed CT scans and a bunch of other tests. However, before they're able to, they were already asking us to pay up front before doing so. I sent them $5,000 right off the bat just to admit him to the hospital because he does not have medical insurance in China and they do not have any savings on their own. After doing so, they informed us that he has two aneurysms in his stomach and needs to perform the surgery, or it's fatal.
I come from a very poor family to begin with, which was the reason why we all moved back to China from the US during 2015 because we simply could not afford living in the states. I came back by myself in 2017 trying to have a better life here by myself and be able to achieve my dreams as an illustrator. I have been laid off from my previous job back at the end of 2020 because my company went bankrupt and thus I have been trying to pursue freelancing. My freelance illustrations do not bring in a lot of income and I simply do not have enough savings for this surgery. I will give up my art career and try to get any job I can find to get funds but the hospital won't do anything until they receive money. However,by that time it might be too late. My dad's siblings and family have all disconnected from us and there's no way to reach out to them for help.
The surgery alone will cost roughly $50,000 USD, the remainly $10,000 USD is for hospital stay between waiting in line for the surgery and after surgery care. I really need external help, this is my last resort to saving him.
I want him to live through seeing me get married and being able to become a grandparent.
I thank you for reading this far, even if you might not be able to help. Any donations no matter how small will make a difference. Thank you so much.
